Evidence from census records proves that Isaac traveled to Utah sometime between 1851 and 1855. He does not appear on the 1850 Utah census. The first documentation to place him in Utah is the 1856 Utah census, which was taken in February 1856, prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah and the name of the company he traveled with.
His birth date is confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone. FamilySearch shows his date of birth as 9 January 1833.
