James Allen, Jr.

James traveled to America in the ship The General McClellan, arriving in New York on 23 June 1864. He is listed on the ship's passenger list with his parents, James and Martha Allen, and two sisters Martha and Mary. He is not, however, listed on the overland company roster with his family, who traveled in the William S. Warren Company that same year. This may have been an oversight, but is is also possible that he was hired as a teamster for another company. Further research is needed to confirm the name of the company he traveled with.
