His given name is "Bierd" in the Terry diary.  His birth date is confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone, and his death date is confirmed by his death certificate.  The Utah Death Certificate Index lists his surname as "Cosgrove," but it is shown as "Crossgrove" on his gravestone.
