James Butler
James initially came to Utah in 1852 with the Eli B. Kelsey pioneer company, and made a second trip to Utah in 1868 with Daniel D. McArthur pioneer company. The Daniel D. McArthur memorandum book indicates James was from Parowan, Utah. This is confirmed in 1870 and 1880 census records which show him living in Iron County.
His birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone.
