
James Cowan
With his family James crossed the Atlantic on the ship James Pennell in 1849. He initially traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in the Moses Clawson Company in 1853. At the time of the 1856 Utah Territorial census he was living in Weber Couty. He participated as one of the rescuers that were sent out in the winter of 1856 to assist the members of the Church stranded in Wyoming.
