James Henry Young
James and his mother, Mary, arrived in New York on 5 July 1866 via the ship American Congress. (His mother's name is "Elizabeth" on the ship passenger list.) On overland company records, only her name is listed as head of household. However, the notation showing she purchased 1 1/2 adult food rations indicates that her young son was with her during this part of the journey as well.
