James McIntosh Stewart
James sailed to America in 1854 on the ship John M. Wood. He married Robina Glenn in 1857 in Salt Lake City, and she was also on the John M. Wood ship. She came to Utah with the 1854 William A. Empey company. We do not have a hand-written roster for that company, but it is possible that James also came with that pioneer company. Further research is needed to confirm the name of the pioneer company he traveled to Utah with.
He was rebaptised 11 November 1855 while living in the Salt Lake City 16th Ward.
His death date is confirmed by his death certificate, which shows his name as "James Stewart." However, his obituary shows his surname as "Stuart." His gravestone inscription also has his surname as "Stuart," but the gravestone appears to have been created sometime after his death and his death date is incorrect.
