Jane Birch
She and her husband, John, arrived in New Orleans on 23 October 1849 via the ship Berlin. The ship roster indicates that one child died en route. Another died shortly after arriving in the United States. They had a son in Missouri in 1852. Parents and two children are seen on the roster for the Gates Company in 1853.
Her birth and death dates are confirmed in the Sugarhouse Ward records (p. 13).
