Evidence from emigration, church records (Perpetual Emigrating Fund), and the Public Works Index, confirms that the Sharples and Haslam families came to Utah in 1854. Their PEF loan was recorded on 1 January 1855, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.
