Evidence from emigration, Church records (Perpetual Emigrating Fund), newspaper and genealogical records proves that the McMillan family traveled to Utah in 1861. They sailed to America in 1861. The first documentation to place them in Utah is the birth of a child in January 1862, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Two obituaries also state that Neal came in 1861. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.
