He wrote a letter from Airy, Surry, North Carolina, talking of his labors in North Carolina and Virginia.
He was sent to preside over the church in Philadelphia.
He left on a mission and to attend conferences in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. He also attended a conference in Philadelphia, 1 September 1844. He was recalled to Nauvoo, before June 1844.
He met in Council with President Brigham Young and others about supplies, and was about to leave for St. Louis, Missouri. He was called to fill a special mission to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
