Jens Christian Folster Mortensen

Evidence from emigration and genealogical records proves that the Mortensen family traveled to Utah between 1861 and 1863. Further research is needed to confirm the year they came to Utah and the name of the company they traveled with.

His death certificate and the inscription on his gravestone show his surname as "Mortensen," but his surname is listed as "Folster" on his obituary.  The death certificate of his daughter Ane Catherine Mortensen Greaves lists her father's name as "Jens C. Folster Mortensen.  

His obituary also states that he came to Utah with his wife and their three children.
