Jerome Owens
The Humboldt Times newspaper dated Saturday, 25 April 1903, confirms his death date as 23 April 1903. "The body of Jerome Owens, who was drowned in the bay Thursday afternoon [April 23, 1903] through the capsizing of the gasoline launch Eagle, has not been recovered, despite the persistent search made yesterday in the vicinity of the accident. . . ."
