Jerusha Guernsey

The Bemis Family came to Utah between 1851 and 1856, probably 1851. They are on the 1850 Iowa Census and the 1860 California Census. There is a story that lists them coming to Utah in 1851, but further research is needed to narrow the year of their travel. Some sources spell their surname "Bemith" or Beamis."

Her birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on her gravestone in California.
