Appointed to work with John Killian. (JH Aug 6, 7, Dec 3, 1834, Nov 25 1835.) 6 HP and 15 Elders (Jesse is listed with Elders) responded to the President's call for volunteers to preach gospel of peace on 6 Aug 1834. Far West Rec., 57-61. Dec 3, 1834 Elders Jesse Hitchcock & Stephen Chase wrote from Franklin County, MO saying there was a fine opening for preaching there. Harvey Redfield & Jesse Hitchcock arr at Kirtland from Missouri on 25 Nov 1835. Hitchcock said he was given poison in bowl of milk, but God delivered him.
