Joel Chauncey Loveland
Joel's older brother Chester was the "President Loveland" mentioned in Washington F. Anderson's letter. In 1857 Joel drove a wagon for Mariah Bowen Call part of the way to the Salt Lake Valley. Church ordinance records prove that this was not Joel's first trip to Utah, however. He was in Bountiful as early as 23 Mar. 1855. Additional research is needed to identify his first arrival and the name of the company with which he crossed the plains.
