Johan Rudolf Itten

John married Magdalena Schneider in Salt Lake City on 18 October 1861 and they were divorced on 15 September 1862 in Santa Clara, Utah.  John's name does not appear on the 1856 or 1860 Utah census, and his marriage to Magdalena is the first documentation to place him in Utah.  Further research is needed to determine the year of his arrival in Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which he traveled.

FamilySearch shows his name as "Johann Rudolf Itten," and this has been confirmed by christening records in Switzerland.  On the death certificates of his daughters Emma and Mary, "John Eaton" is listed as their father, so apparently this was his preferred name after arriving in America.
