Johanna Erickson

Johanna, her mother and brother (Sarah Christina Ragnar and Peter), arrived in New York on 3 June 1864 via the ship Monarch of The Sea. All three are listed under the surname of "Ragnar" on ship passenger lists and company rosters, but once they reach the valley, in Lehi Ward records, for example, her children's surnames are recorded as "Erickson." Perhaps "Ragnar" is the name of a step-father that did not follow them to the valley. Birth date is confirmed by Lehi Ward records at the time of a rebaptism performed on 8 December 1864. On the roster the children are listed as "and 2 children." She later married Avangelo McCarthy. Variations on name spelling are: Joanne, Joanna.
