John Allen
John and his brother, Alfred, arrived in New Orleans on 29 May 1854 via the ship Marshfield. The first documentation to place John in the Valley is his rebaptism in the Goshen Ward in 1857. This proves that he would have arrived between 1854 and 1857. Further research is needed to narrow the year of travel and identify the name of the company with which he traveled. He was about 18 years old when he came to Utah.
His brother, Alfred, made it to the United States but further research is needed to determine if he arrived in the Valley with John.
