John Burraston
John arrived in New Orleans on 14 March 1851 via the ship The Ellen, which shows his name as "John Burston." Apparently, he was in the care of "Mr. W. Smith." A family tradition indicates that he traveled with the 1851 James W. Cummings company, and there is a "William Smith" in that company.
His rebaptism took place in Salt Lake City on 25 October 1851.
The 1860 census shows his surname as "Buriston," and the Salt Lake Record of Members" shows it as "Burison."
