John Hamilton Morgan

John and one companion drove a herd of cattle from Missouri to Great Salt Lake City for William Jennings (a Utah resident), reaching their destination on 23 December 1866. John was not then a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but within less than a year he accepted baptism and soon became an active missionary and, evenutally, a ranking church leader.

His wife, Helen Melvina Groesbeck traveled to the Salt Lake Valley with the John Banks Company in 1856.
