John James Fry

Evidence from census, autobiographical, and church ordinance records proves that John traveled to Utah in 1860 or 1861. He appears on the 1860 Nebraska census which was taken 13 July 1860. There were only two companies that left for Utah after that date, so it is more likely that he arrived in Utah in 1861. The first evidence to place him in Utah is a church ordinance performed in Salt Lake City 6 Sep. 1861. Further research is needed to confirm the year he came to Utah and the name of the company he traveled with.
