John McCloy

John and Robert McCloy emigrated to the United States in 1860 on the Underwriter. It is likely they traveled to Utah in the same year. More research is required to determine exactly when they arrived to Utah. Genealogical records prove he was in Salt Lake City by 1867. A letter from his mother to Brigham Young indicates that she had not heard from the two men for some time and they were not replying to her letters. In the letter she indicated that John arrived to Utah a few years after Robert. More research is required to determine exactly when John arrived in Utah.
