John Riley Turpin

John Turpin was rebaptized in Utah 28 May 1853, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration, proving that the family arrived in Utah by 1852.  The obituary of Joseph Leander Turpin lists his arrival in Utah as 1847, so he would have been only about one year old and would certainly have been with his parents.  However, the family does not appear on the 1850 Utah census, so we can only say that it is likely that they came to Utah in 1851 or 1852.   Further research is needed to confirm the year the family arrived in Utah and the name of the company they traveled with.
