Jonathan Grimshaw

Johathan, his wife Eliza and children Elizabeth, Emma, Maria, Arthur and Fanny sailed to America in 1851 on the ship Ellen.

The Grimshaw family crossed the Atlantic on the same ship as James W. Cummings, who captained his own overland company in 1851, so it is possible they traveled in his company across the plains. Further research is needed to confirm this.
