Elder Jorge F. Zeballos was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2008. At the time of his call, he had been serving as the president of the Chile Concepción South Mission (2006–2008). He has served as a member of the Central America, South America South, and Chile Area Presidencies. He previously served as Assistant Executive Director in the Missionary Department and as a member of various committees at Church Headquarters. He also served as President of the South America Northwest Area. He was serving in the Caribbean Area Presidency when he was granted Emeritus status, effective August 1, 2025.

Elder Zeballos has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Chile Concepcion Mission, bishop, stake president, regional representative, Area Authority, Area Seventy, and mission president.

Elder Zeballos graduated with a degree in civil engineering at Santa Maria University (Chile) in 1979. In 1991 he received his master of business administration from Brigham Young University. He worked as the manager of physical facilities for the Chile Area until 1989. After graduating from Brigham Young University, he worked as the manager of corporate affairs for Minera Escondida–BHP Billiton until he was called as a mission president in 2005.

Jorge Fernando Zeballos Ortiz was born in Ovalle, Chile, on July 19, 1955. He married Carmen Gloria Valenzuela in June 1982. They are the parents of five children.
