Joseph Hancock

Joseph Hancock was part of the 12th Company of Ten led by Norton Jacob. In some sources Joseph's birth date is 17 March 1800 and his death date 10 June 1882 but his burial record has his death date 5 July 1893. An article in the Deseret News printed in August 1894 indicates he was still alive at that time (age 94) and living in Payson County, Utah. An article printed in the Coalville times on 24 August 1894 supports the probability of his date of death being after that time. That article indicates he was in attendance at a Veterans and Pioneer Reunion just a few weeks prior. His dates of death and burial on FamilySearch are likely incorrect. More research is needed to confirm his exact date of death.
