Joseph Mecham, Sr.
Joseph initially came to the Valley with Caleb Hersey Davis in the 1850 Hawkins Company. At some point, he continued on to California, and returned to Utah in 1858 with the Tenney Company.
His birth date confirmed by Utah Stake City Ward records at the time of a rebaptism on 11 September 1852.
Caleb Hersey Mecham, an orphan, also traveled to Utah with Joseph Mecham in 1850.
