Josiah Hendricks

Reports indicate Josiah traveled to Utah in 1850 as part of a Mormon emigrant train. His brother and sister-in-law (Allen and Elizabeth Lewis Hendricks), along with their children were traveling with the company on their way to California. The parents died along the way and Josiah took the children with him to Salt Lake where they stayed with other relatives that had joined the Church.

Find a grave indicates an earlier birth year, but census records consistently place his birth year closer to 1830. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company this family traveled with.
