Joyce Staples Jackson
Joyce and her husband, Thomas, traveled with their daughter and son-in-law. The family arrived in New York on 11 June 1866 via the ship Caroline. Though the Thompson company records only list Thomas, as head of household, the notation that he purchased four adult food rations indicates the rest of the group accompanied him during this portion of the journey as well.
A son, Silas, traveled across the ocean with them, but did not make the overland trip for until two years later.
