Karen Camilla Sorenson
Karen crossed the Atlantic with her brother (Rasmus) and her sister (Sophia) on the ship Manhatten in 1867. A newspaper obituary for Karen's sister Sophia Christina Moller Nelson published in the Manti Messenger, 4 July 1913, says that the three of them crossed the plains in 1867. Karen kept a journal. She did not identify the name of the company she traveled with, but she records several significant events that we know occurred in the 1867 Leonard Rice Company. For example, she records that Niels Peter Hansen was shot in the head and died several days later. He is documented in the Rice Company.
