Katie Arvilla Simons

Daughter of Edmund Simons and Elizabeth Diana Harris.  In the 1860 census the Simons were living in Mansfield, Connecticut; in the 1880 Utah census both Katie and her mother are listed under the surname "Pender" and living in Ogden.  Katie's obituary says her family crossed the plains with Captain Nebeker in 1862 but because there was no Nebeker Company that year this is incorrect.  There was a Nebeker Company in 1863, however, and this is probably the pioneer company she traveled with but additional research is needed to confirm this.
