Son of Mads Peter and Bertha Marie. Obituaries of the Rasmussen family confirm that they traveled to Utah in 1857 with the handcart company. They also sailed to America in 1857. FamilySearch lists his name as "Lars J. Rasmussen" but the 1857 Westmoreland ship manifest and his death certificate show his name as "Lars Peter Rasmussen."
