Laura Elizabeth Chaffin

13 December 1850 – 22 January 1938. Born in St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri, United States. Daughter of Louis Rice Chaffin and Sarah Maria Cossett.  Travels west as a baby with her parents in the Henry W. Miller Company arriving in the Salt Lake Valley in September 1852. Baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 3 May 1858. Married Rufus Chester Allen on 5 May 1886 in St. George, Washington, Utah Territory, United States. Died on 23 January 1938 in St. George, Washington, Utah Territory, United States. Her birth and death dates are confirmed by her death certificate and the inscription on her gravestone which show her surname as "Allen."
