Lauris Hansen

Evidence from genealogical and church records prove that the Hansen family came to Utah in 1859. A daughter, Kjirsten (Kirsten) Hansen, in her Reminiscences (first person) tells about when the family came. Kirsten came earlier in 1858. Some sources spell his given name "Laurits".

The family came on the ship, James Nesmith in 1855. The family consisted of father, Laurits, mother Karen, and siblings: Mette, Kjesten, Maren, and Niels. Niels and Maren died before they came across the plains.; Kjersten came in 1858.
