Mahaleth was rebaptized in Salt Lake City 20 January 1851, before the arrival of that season's emigration, which proves that she arrived by 1850.  Further research is needed to determine her year of travel and the name of the pioneer company she traveled to Utah with.

Her name is listed as "Mahaleth Jane Franklin" on her death certificate, and the inscription on her gravestone shows it as "Mahaleth Jane Chase Franklin."
