Mahalia Johnston
Evidence from census genealogical records proves that the Smith/Johnston family traveled to Utah in 1850. She traveled with her children George, David and Sarah Johnston and her stepdaughter, Elizabeth. Her married name of "Johnston" was originally spelled "Johnstun" but was changed to "Johnston" after arriving in Utah.
