Maren Sophia sailed the United States on the Thornton. She is listed alone on the ship register.
She is shown in documents as traveling with Paul and Lucy Jacobsen. Rasmus Peter Hansen was also with them. The four of them are grouped together in Perpetual Emigrating Fund, Financial Accounts 1849-1886, Ledger B, p. 224.
She should not be confused with Maren Jorgensen, daughter of Anders Jorgensen.
Paul, Rasmus Peter, and Maren each died en route to Utah.
