Maren Sophie Christensen
Maren sailed to America in 1858 on the ship Emerald Isle. The ship manifest shows her age as 16 and she is listed as a "Spinster." No family members accompanied her.
Her obituary confirms her arrival in Salt Lake City on 28 September 1868. Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which she traveled.
Maren's birth and death dates are confirmed by her death certificate, which shows her name as "Mary Sophia Christensen."
Her name appears as "Mary S. Jenson on the 1880 Utah census.
