Passenger lists shows that the Hansen family (with exception of Johan Peter Hansen) came to the United States aboard the ship Monarch of the Sea. The first documentation to place them in Utah is the marriage of Karen Marie in December 1865. Previously, the Hansen family had been placed in "Unknown Companies (1847-1868)." However, it is believed at this time that the family probably came in the William Preston (1864) Company and that they were listed as "Peter (23), Annie (64), Marie (24), and Cornelia Hansen (18)," in the company manifest. The approximate ages given in the company manifest seem to match the data given in the Mormon Migration database and family tradition from FamilySearch.org. Also, it is believed that the two daughters listed on Family Tree "Marie Sidse Hansen" and "Mary Cammelia Johnson Jorgensen," are possibly the same person as they were born on the same date. This might explain why on the ship manifest there was one daughter born about 1846 listed as "Sidse Marie," and in the company manifest there was one daughter born about 1846 listed as "Cornelia," (possibly a misspelling of Cammelia).
