She was rebaptized in Salt Lake City 3 May 1852, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Her name appears with her husband on the 1850 Utah Census, which was taken in the Spring of 1851.
Her name appears as "Marinda Huse" on the 1860 Utah census, as she was then married to John Hughes.
Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company she traveled to Utah with.
1850 Pottawatomie Census lists Samuel, Marinda, Mary Ann, and Thomas living in Iowa on 5 November 1850. There is no evidence that Thomas ever came to Utah or that he is buried here. He likely died in Iowa in January 1851 before Samuel, Marinda, and Mary Ann came to Utah.
