Mary Ann Crowther
Mary Ann crossed the Atlantic on the ship George Washington, arriving in Boston on 20 April 1857. (Her name is listed as Mary A. Crother on the passenger list.) She married in Salt Lake City in February 1859, so she must have crossed the plains either in 1857 or 1858. Additional research is needed to determine the exact year and the name of the company with which she traveled. Her obituary mistakenly notes she traveled in the 1856 Martin handcart company. If the handcart information is correct, she may have traveled in the 1857 Israel Evans company, but it is more likely that she traveled with the Jesse B. Martin wagon company in 1857.
