Mary Ann Eliza Grundhand

The Deseret News "List of Passengers" shows J. L. Grundhand coming to Utah with his wife and 2 children.  His first wife, Mary A. appears on the 1863 Amazon ship manifest with three children:  M. A. E., Sarah, and Abraham I. Grundhand.  John Lewis does not appear with them.  The note concerning him on Find a Grave states that Mary Ann died in New Jersey in 1864.  John then married Florence Doughty and they came to Utah with two children, Sarah and Mary Grundhand. In the 1870 census of Utah the family surname is spelled "Gumden."  In 1880 it is spelled "Grandhand."
