Mary Ann Grant
There is uncertainty as to which company this mother and son traveled with. Mary Ann (widow of Edmund) and William traveled on the ship Arkwright, arriving in New York 6 July 1866. There is a "Marg. & Wm. Althorn" listed on the Deseret News roster for the 1866 Peter Nebeker company. However, there is a "M. Crathron" listed on the 1866 Thompson company records, with a notation that she purchased three adult food rations, inferring that there was at least two other members of her traveling group. It is possible the pair began on one company and moved to another. It is also possible that these are two different groups of people. Further research is needed.
