Mary Bowman
The Patterson family sailed to America in 1865 on the ship Belle Wood, arriving in New York on 29 April 1865.
The rebaptisms of Edward, his wife Mary, and sons Joseph Bowman and John Thomas took place on 24 January 1866 while in the Bloomington, Utah Ward. This was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration, proving that the family came directly to Salt Lake City in 1865. Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.
