Mary Christine Johnson
She sailed to America in 1855 on the ship James Nesmith.
Mary Christine wrote a letter to the editor of Deseret Evening News in which she described her trail experience. Both of her parents died on the Missouri River, at Mormon Grove. Mary Christine was left with guardians that, according to her, ultimately left the church and returned back east. During her travel with the Hunt company, her feet were badly frozen and eventually, her legs were amputated. Her married surname was "Parsons." She was born Maren Kirstine Johansen, and changed her name to Johnson.
