Mary Dearden
Robert and his wife, Mary Deardon Brown, crossed the Atlantic in 1842 on the ship Sidney. They lived in Nauvoo, Illinois until forced to leave. Mary gave birth to a son, Robert Thomas Brown, on 1 September 1847 at Alton, Illinois and bore a daughter, Mary Jane, there on 13 December 1849. Additional research is needed to determine the exact year and the pioneer company with which they traveled. Family Search gives his death date as 5 July 1861, but according to the Utah State History Cemeteries and Burials Database, he died 31 July 1861.
Mary's death date is from the Salt Lake City Death Records book A (1848-1866), line 478 where she is listed as Mary M. Brown wife of Robert.
