Mary Elizabeth Tullidge
Mary and her sister, Jane, traveled to Utah with the Nahum Holden family according to information recalled by Mary in her autobiography. There was a Nahum Holden family in the Murphy company that closely fits in composition the description given by Mary in her autobiography. Although Tullidge family tradition asserts that the Tullidge sisters traveled in the Ross company, there is no name resembling Nahum Holden on the Ross company roster. Unfortunately the Tullidge sisters' names do not appear on any 1860 roster, but there is ample evidence to prove they traveled to Utah in 1860 (including emigration and Endowment House records). Mary's autobiographical recollections allow us to identify the company the sisters traveled in.
