Mary Matilda Langley
Her father, George Washington Langley, came to Utah with the 1848 Heber C. Kimball company. We do not have access to an every-name roster for this company, so cannot confirm that Mary and her children came to Utah with George. He died in Utah February 1850.
The first documentation placing Mary and her children in Utah is the 1850 Utah census, which shows her and her Langley children living with the Wordsworth family. Her name is shown as "Mary Langley, widow." This census was taken in the spring of 1851, proving that Mary and her children arrived in Utah by 1850, and she did not marry William Shin Wordsworth until after arriving in Utah. Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which Mary and her children traveled to Utah.
