Mary McDonald
Traveling alone, Mary arrived in New York on 5 July 1866 via the ship American Congress, using her maiden name. The ship manifest lists her as a "spinster," but she was actually a widow, and she traveled alone.
She was rebaptized in the Salt Lake City 13th Ward on 30 November 1866, where her birth date is recorded. After her arrival she married John Rider.
Her son and parents followed her to the Valley in 1874.
